The volunteers coming from Barangay La Purisima Concepción, Taytayan and Bungtod and selected high school students from Taytayan National High School had participated the Standard First Aid Training by the Philippine Red Cross - Northern Cebu Chapter on September 3 - 6, 2019 at Bogo City Hall AVR. There were 30 attendees and 28 of them survived the four day training. The training was a great privileged to the participants as the accommodation was made free for them and the great learning and skills were absorbed thoroughly.
The training was on the first aid such as on how to treat the patient specifically from the sickness, the skills on bandage techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), lifting and moving patients and many other more. Indeed, to check the learning and understanding of the participants, on its third day, a written exam was made, followed by the evaluation on bandaging techniques and CPR. On the fourth day, continuation from the third day, and on the afternoon, an evaluation on lifting and moving patients through a dramatic scene made at the ground, back of the Philippine Red Cross building. The last day was the unexpected event wherein the participants did not have an idea what would happen as they expected just to have a tour on the building site. As on their way to the building, a dramatic scene was made unexpectedly. Indeed, the participants exerted their total effort just to Dave the patients from the accident. It was an unforgettable from them as they had the knowledge to be applied for their family and soon they will be serving the people from the accidents.
